King Dedede is the first GaMetal song where I changed my drum kit. I had upgraded my el-cheapo electronics to a Roland TD-6v, a pretty good bang-for-your-buck VDrum module.
Unfortunately, this song also was the first to suffer from the ‘drum lag issue’, which I already covered on the Emerald Hill Zone page if you want to read about it. Short story shorter, I had an effect on the drum track that was causing a split second of lag that made it sound like I was dragging a lot.
In this song we have the first instance of one of those strange GaMetal techno interludes, something that also appears in the 2011 song Flying Battery Zone.
I think the arrangement here was decent, the remix itself is ehh.. Maybe you’ll enjoy it more. 🙂
